I remember those commercials, high end speakers from Hitachi Maxell.

Back when MTV actually showed music videos.

I remember looking like that a lot the year MTV first came out.

This strip is from 1983. MTV had already been around for almost two years. Although it’s possible it’s new to them because their cable provider just added it.

I remember when MTV was all music videos, with look-at-me-I’m-so-cool VJs (supposedly Video Jockeys, but really just presenters).

MTV was started by Mike Nesmith. Yes, that Mike Nesmith.

Used to have a big ol’ dish back in the day (in Canada). Having MTV was my comfort go-to, and I had taped a lot, editing out the repeats and commercials. Bad news…in beta, lol
