Some days, life gets easier when you realize how insignificant you are, ironically.

Don’t worry about what other people think of you; they probably don’t, anyway.

I remember one time when I was in high school. I was walking with a friend and we were laughing at everything. We walked through a set of double-doors and almost walked into the bar in the center, which set us up laughing more. Unfortunately, on the other side of the door was a guy I knew who had just gotten a perm. Since I was already laughing, I looked at him and was still laughing. He was so mad that he didn’t talk to me for the longest time afterward. He wouldn’t listen to my explanation.

What other people think of you is none of your business, Charlie Brown. Besides not everything is all about you.

Well, they were laughing at clowns, and “he’s a clown, that Charlie Brown.”

Yes, I know the song isn’t exactly about that Charlie Brown.

I need to find an old “MAD” magazine – they did a parody magazine for neurotics with a cover picture of a movie audience laughing uproariously at a Road Runner cartoon – except for one guy with the tragic story “They may all deny it, but I know they’re really laughing at ME!”
