I think she must have “grown backward,” because some later comics had her in a crib.

Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Right. One… two… five!

Lucy with the “cold opening”. The original four and Violet just popped into being, like this. After this, most characters appear with a kind of introduction. Even the infamous Charlotte Braun had an intro. Lucy just shows up like she’s always been there.

Later of course Lucy was the champion rope jumper and Patty and Violet were getting tips from her. (Like, “Don’t jump too long in the same spot!”)

So since Schroeder isn’t talking yet, that means Lucy is older than he is?
