    Morning, Village!

Today is Sports Day! Nearly everyone in the community pitches in to host about 300 special needs kids in a day of fun and excitement! We’ll have jet ski rides, pleasure boat ride, baseball, miniature golf, pony rides, fishing, ham radio, paintball target shooting, face painting, and lots of other fun for these kids. This year I’m in charge of transportation, I’ll be transporting the kids from station to station via golf carts. Lots of fun and excitement ahead today!

Good weekend Vagabonds. The sun is rising, a good day is beginning, but, I believe our weather is going to be similar to woodworker’s by nightfall..We’ll headed out tonight to rehearse the fifth degree grange at Kingdom Pomona Grange for inspection. It’s a beautiful degree that includes a thunder storm. (more then once we’ve had the real thing).A quick question: What Sit-com is about three sisters who share the same middle name Josephine or Jo.Hint: It involves a Train. The theme song was performed by Flat and Sruggs..Nice day everybody..ttfn

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

McPheeters has it right. It was Petticoat Junction. Billie Jo, Betty Jo and Bobbie Jo Bradley. I actually met Betty Jo (Linda Kaye Henning) when I was a teen. She attended a wedding reception at my mom’s church where Mom & I were serving the wedding cake. She was a real stuck-up snob. She was also the only one of the daughters who was on the show for the entire run.

Today is a lazy Saturday. We will finalize some vacation plans and reservations for August, but mostly just enjoy the day. (We are planning a 3 week trip to Oregon in August.)

It is 67 degrees outside, with an expected high of 76, so it will be a great day to be lazy.

Good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday, I went by subway to see the Turkish parade. Unfortunately, due to construction, the subway routing was changed all over Manhattan and it was impossible to get to the station that the parade was near. All over the system people were checking their apps to see how to proceed. Finally I gave up.

Something else also happened yesterday: I was in the supermarket and saw delicious-looking home-baked style chocolate chip cookies. I haven’t had any since I was diagnosed with diabetes. After looking at them for a few minutes and imagining eating them with a glass of milk, I returned the box to the shelf and walked away.

Howdy Vagabonds.More then a little gray here this morning, the Channel Three website calls for scattered showers and possible T-storms..You hit it on the head McPheeters and Jan, “Petticoat Junction” it is. Of course Bobbie is short for Roberta, Betty is short for Elizabeth and I believe Billie is short in this case for Willamina..First Church, and then a lazy wet day, and a great day to you all..ttfn

    Happy Sunday Morning, Village!

Had a great time at Sports Day! We had over 400 participants. That includes the kids and their caretakers. Plus, it took about 150 local residents to make this thing work. All volunteers! By the time I got the golf carts all gassed up and the keys turned in to Security, I didn’t make it home until 5 o’clock. And this afternoon, a bunch of us will go down and take down all the tents and pack them away for next year!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Arye, once your system has “settled in” so to speak, you will be able to have an occasional treat like a cookie. My friend De is insulin controlled (and has been for many years), and she is very careful, but she does have a cookie or an ice cream cone once in a while. She just is careful to allow for it along with the rest of her diet. In the meantime, be proud of yourself for resisting.

David, your event sounds wonderful. Such a good cause and such a great community that cares enough to put it together.

The temp is only 66 at the moment. Expected high is 79, so the doors and windows stay open again today.

Off to church this morning, then a lazy Sunday afternoon. Next week the pastor is calling “Aloha Sunday”. I’m not sure what he has in mind, but I have a “tropical” outfit put together to wear, complete with shell leis that I got in Hawaii about 25 years ago.

    Everyone have a wonderful week!

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

We’re off to start our southbound trek………..tonight will be Salt Lake City, then we take it one day at a time……we’ll be close enough in case Baby comes early……5 days and counting!

Jan, you mentioned a stuck up celebrity……our younger daughter met Nicolas Cage in bar, and he also was extremely stuck up. Can’t remember the conversation, but it has turned her off watching any of his movies.

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Today it is partly cloudy and windy. Temp in low 50’s. Was supposed to rain this morning but nothing so far. First of the week we are supposed to have some and then from Thursday on, the temp in the mid 80’s.

    All have a good day.

I’m off to do the wash. Tra la, tra la
