I believe they already have a bunch of cable TV channels lauding below-averageness… it’s called “reality TV” but I certainly hope it’s fake.

They are scripted anyway so I don’t believe they are for real. Married with Children was more real than what’s called reality.

I’m sort of with Agnes (and Trout) here. There are plenty of good, “normal” people out there who make our everyday lives safe and (sort of) sane. We probably don’t celebrate them because they are the norm. Saints and inventors are the outliers. We need them too. But not so many that they are common. -———————————————-To sort of mangle Garrison Keillor. “Everybody can’t be above average.”

I think the proper spelling is “Agnus Dei” and it has nothing to do with Agnes. :-)

I have nothing against “averageness,” but it never occurred to me that Agnes is particularly average.

“Laud being average? Didn’t we have that with the C president Georg W. “Shrub” Bush for eight years?”.He wasn’t average. He was above the average of people who were the sons of former presidents in number of years in office as president.(The average being six and him having served eight.)
