Words escape me. Seems like he could not be a real uncle". We have at least one instance in my extended family of people with the same surnames marrying. I’ve never quite been able to establish what relationships they were to each other. But I assume that all was kosher; this was a smallish rural area, and surely somebody would have blown the whistle if it wasn’t.
