in pure Triage, with limited resources, it’s the greatest good for the greatest number. One in exchange for many… Sorry Sis… nothing personal.

There’s a book that I just discovered yesterday at the store (didn’t buy it) that has a bunch of essay questions that have been offered to students at some university. Don’t remember the name of the book and I can’t find it in a quick google search. But, one of the questions was “If you saw a blind man walking towards a cliff, and you decided to not yell to warn him, and he walked over the edge and died, would you be guilty of murder?”Part of the author’s argument went “ethically, if you knew the blind guy was a serial killer, it would be ok. But, if he was a philanthropist that donated money to children’s hospitals, yes, it’s murder.” British law, though, requires intent. If you didn’t aim the blind man at the cliff with the intent of killing him, it’s not murder. Regardless, you may not be able to sleep well at night for a while. After all, she WAS your sister, and you let her die for her money…

I agree – a really good one. I’ll be thinking about it for a while.
