I usually give the present of a nice, homemade cake, and that usually goes over quite well.

My daughter has a tiny apartment, and she has made it clear, NO MORE GIFTS. No room for them… Okay, gift cards or store credit cards, I guess. Ain’t the same, but if it makes ’em happy…
