For a change, the one on the right is correct, and has the only authority.

^Instead of cocooning the U.S. with concrete, why not do two effective and cost cutting measures?

One: Mandate the use of e-verify and have the employees verify their migration status in the country.

Two: Decriminalize pot. You know? The same way we decriminalized booze and got rid of Al Capone.

But that would require big government and we don’t want that.

    BTW Bruce HA!

We need to look at who actually CUT budgets for enforcment over several decades on the federal side. Yes, we need to stop illegal activities— it is time to realize “Just say NO to ‘just say no’” with regard to several issues.

We need to let the Bush tax cuts die- then enforce federal laws on immigration (with more $$), crack down on illegal drug sales- by modifying our “drug” laws to apply to real drugs, and get treatment instead of incarceration for users, and big sentences for sellers- including the big drug manufacturers who are “legitimate” but manufacture far more of some of these “illicit” drugs on the market than legally prescribed.

Drug enforcement needs to be Cheney’s management base, start at the very top, and work your way down, with only those at the top being nailed first.

That we do Bruce. Wait for the final decision that is!

E-Verify is available, but its not mandated. Why shouldn’t we get big government involved? After all, we enforce big, expensive, draconian, intrusive government on gays, women, and minorities. Why should employers be any different?

Actually it would mean more government if pot is legalized. The government would then have to set rules on how much a person can buy, if they can drive while intoxicated, taxes on the product, who’s allowed to sell it, etc.

All of you fiscal conservatives, how is AZ going to fund their new mandate on local law enforcement?

Oh, I know, tax cuts for the rich!

    Nevermind…
