There was an episode of the Flintstones where Fred and Barney sneak out of the house by being part of the “volunteer fire department” (the joke being no Stone Age structures were in danger of burning). However, unlike the other guys who went out drinking or playing cards, they went to dance school in order to be halfway decent for their wives for an upcoming ball.
Not necessarily that (Elly DOES end up with three kids that I’ll assume are all his). He may have two left feet. Some guys simply cannot dance…unless it’s the Funky Chicken.
My father was the one who wanted to ballroom dance. He dragged my mother along now and again, but then decided he could dance with other women and leave straight from work without having to pick her up. My parents didn’t much like each other, everything she did annoyed him- so that worked out for the best. She and I had relaxed time at home <3
My husband and I were going to start ballroom dancing classes when his motorcycle got hit on the freeway and destroyed his right ankle. Now, 25 years later, he still can’t be on his feet for long or maneuver the way he would need to in order to dance. Heavy sigh…….
