NYC schools did not close for one day because of the blizzard.

An area that does not get much snow simply is not equipped to deal with it. There are plenty of drivers in the snow belt that have problems when the first snow happens but then most of them remember how to drive in it the second, third, fourth…… time around.

For those of you not in the area, schools here in Montgomery County have been closed all week. Even DC’s public schools weren’t closed that long.

The first scene of the first King of the Hill I remember was snow falling in Arlen, Texas. Little straggly flakes were spiraling lazily toward the ground, and down below, cars were skidding into each other. A perfect example of how cartoons can aptly caricature reality.
