This is the kinda thing which is teaching people not to take a chance at falling in love. I understand the need for narrative tension, but humans, you’re born to take some chances. If you get hurt, it’s not forever (speaking emotionally here over normal circumstances). If your heart isn’t broken at least three or four times before you find real love, well, you aren’t even in the game.
Somewhere down the line Norm tells Reine that he wants to date her “for real” (my term not his). After all they end up marrying. I wonder how many days is that away from today’s strip.
