Trump is an example of what came happen when political parties no longer represent the best interests of the people but, pander to the lowest common denominator.
A bit much folks. The US closed the borders to the Germans & Japanese during WW II. I am sure the 14 plus the wounded in Sen Bernadino would like some better controls. All you liberals should try migrating to Syria, or other fantastic muslim country that would slice your head off just to say hello.Close the borders and shut off the billions in aid that can be better spent here on the homeless, veterans, and the elderly.
I fail to understand why liberals believe that is imperative that the United States import Muslims from war-torn countries. It has always been the country’s prerogative to decide who it allows inside of its borders. Since all we have heard the last thirteen years is that “they” hate us because of our wars in Muslim lands, I don’t see why we wouldn’t just take everyone at their word and believe that they do, in fact, hate us.
I have conservative friends who are honest like Trump and voice their views which are in agreement with Trump. Most Republicans who are appalled at him also agree but are trying to hide it to get elected.
Trump wouldn’t get any traction at all if he didn’t represent large portions of the GOP electorate. He’s not a crazy outlier, he’s a mineshaft canary of sorts, telling us how much bitter hatred and prejudice is festering below the surface in the Land of the Free, as if the reactions to that dark-skinned President weren’t already a great big clue to the toxic brain sludge that infests much of the Grand Old Party.
The problem with Trump is that he distracts from the fact that the rest of the GOP candidates are almost as awful. From their anti-Muslim bigotry to their ignorant stance on science of any kind to their damaging, deficit financed tax cuts mostly for the very rich, there’s no real difference between them. The only difference is “just HOW crazy?”
Now Rand Paul is whining he never got this much attention when he introduced legislation last month calling for basically the same thing as Trump.http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/rand-paul-trump-muslim-ban?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link
Thanks for finally noticing. Soon Trump will say it’s not enough to keep new Muslims out, the one’s who are here will need ID chips imbedded so we know where they are. And after he’s elected he’ll realize he needs to confiscate all our guns to keep us safe.
I keep posting this message, and will continue to do so until there is at least the possibility that every RWNJ who posts on these forums has the opportunity to read it.Those who conflate socialism with communism display a lack of understanding of either. The world has been socialist for roughly 100 years. Variations among nations are a matter of degree. US examples include social security, Medicare, SSI, disability, workmen’s compensation, unemployment insurance, food stamps, gov’t. job training programs, home energy assistance, etc. Basically any form of assistance to those who, for whatever reason, are presently disadvantaged, is socialism. If YOU plan on foregoing social security & Medicare, and have never & will never use any of the myriad other programs offered because of your opposition to “socialism”, kudos to you for living up to your principles. That makes one of you. Here’s a tidbit of history for you. Prior to US involvement in WWII, we refused to permit the SS St. Louis, a passenger ship carrying Jewish refugees from Germany, to make port here. We sent it back to Germany. I will assume you know what happened to Jews in Germany during that period of time. We also, for years, refused Otto Frank’s increasingly desperate attempts to get even his children, such as his daughter Anne, permission to emigrate to the USA. This despite the fact that Mr. Frank had connections in very high places, including to Eleanor Roosevelt. The stated reason for this unwavering policy was that anyone with relatives still in Europe might be blackmailed into spying for the Nazis, using the threat of harm to their relatives still in Europe. The internment and forcible disenfranchisement of Japanese-Americans, including the seizure of all their property, is unquestionably one of the most shameful episodes in US history. That is the history you advocate repeating.
I’m so sorry you’re a scared little rabbit but becoming fascist isn’t the way. Christians claim faith but many sound like you and are too scared to actually Follow Jesus, Jews the same for Moses. I’ve read our history and everytime the rabbits talk something horrendous happens. Go cower somewhere and let the grown-ups talk.
