While Trump blows hot air, the rest of them continue to pander to the military industrial complex…and their leading candidate, Lady Macbeth, who has already destroyed Serbia, Libya, Syria and Iraq, isn’t even in power yet!
Is anyone promising to really fix the tax code, fix aging infrastructure, create more jobs, put education at the top of the list again, reduce medical costs, esp prescriptions that are 30% more expensive than the rest of the world, reduce the number of low income and homeless people, you know, important stuff like that.
@Ted LindPerhaps if we can convince the politicians that the very real problems you describe and the lack of response are part of a terrorist plot, we might get some movement. And, the lack of movement on these fixes is terrifying.
More like neither. Caesar and Hitler at least were both intelligent. I really can’t say that for Trump…which in some ways makes him worse still. My big fear is that, heaven forbid, should Trump win the presidency, whatever he does during his term will pave the way for more “proper” versions of Caesar or Hitler for America. But hopefully this is is an unfounded fear and Trump will never become president.
I don’t see a path to victory for Trump. Victory in the Republican race, sure. Those voters are self-hating idiots. But the general? Not a chance. 100% of Republicans could vote for him, and there are still more rational liberals voting during years divisible by 4.
Russia needed a revolution, but not the one they got. The concentration of power and wealth in a few hands before the revolution was simply obscene. Vladimir Nabokov’s memoir, “Speak Memory”, gives a glimpse of life at the top. But Marx himself would never have thought that Russia was ready for communism. He was looking for the revolution in Germany or England, where there was a developed class of industrial workers. And of course it’s important to remember that there were two revolutions in Russia, one in February, a more or less “liberal” revolution, which got rid of the Tsarist system, and then another one in October/November, when the Communists staged a coup. And hanging over all these events was the War. It’s a complex story.

When our infrastructure collapses on its own, the terrorists won’t even have to walk in. They can just have a good laugh, wherever they are.

Every American should read this in my opinion:
