I know your tricks! Tommy and Sophie's Woman: TOMMY! Tommy: WOMAN! Tommy and Sophie's Woman: Oh Tommy, it IS you! KNEAD KNEAD KNEAD Tommy and Sophie's Woman: He's been gone so long, we almost lost hope. I can't believe he's only been a few blocks away this whole time! Tommy and Sophie's Woman: I'm glad to see he's made friends! Elvis: Okay -- Tommy: I don't know how to thank you. Elvis: Well, I know for a fact you'd do the same for me. Tommy: Hello! Lupin; HOW DID YOU GET IN?! Elvis: Guys, I don't know how to tell you this.... Elvis: I think you were wrong about Tommy. Lupin: You don't say. Tommy: Put it there, new friends! Puck: I don't know how I feel about this. Puck: Do you mind if I smell your nose? Tommy: Not at all! Tommy and Sophie's Woman: C'mon, Tommy! It's time to go home. Woman: Visit anytime! We're going to miss him! Tommy and Sophie's Woman: I will! WE will! Tommy: Well, I guess this it. Elvis: WAIT!

I think I may have shared this the last time this ran, but this is very like the story of Pepper the Border Collie — ran away while her people were on vacation…picked up by vet staff after bouncing off cars…scared, dirty, snarly, she cowered in her run for days letting no one near her. then one day People came looking for their lost dog. They stood at the door to the run, and Pepper and People stared at each other until suddenly they recognized each other. The rest is in panel 7 above. Forty years later and I can still see it…sniffle!

I know this is a repeat, and I read it the first time just a couple days ago (2018) .. it really hit me hard emotionally, since I got my cat back 2 years ago, and it tears me apart to be away from her even one day. So even though a cartoon cat, makes me happy that he found his owner again.
