The New General Manager of Metro looks at a Venn diagram where the reliability line, the cost line, and the safety line intersect. Meanwhile, the elevator, intercom, and escalators are all broken around him.
All too true, I never understand what they are saying. I took buses in Las Vegas, they had lighted signs inside but they didn’t work. Another thing like this are banks. They get robbed and they show you this horrible grainy picture and ask for ID. You think a bank could afford a decent camera.
mikefiveSanders keeps comparing to Scandinavia. In the Hoover depression (which spread worldwide), one third of US banks failed and people lost their life savings. In adjacent Canada, one bank failed and its officers went to prison. Of course, US banks would never permit Canadian style regulations, just as we can’t get the cheaper and more effective Canadian health care or the moneybags will lead chants of USA, USA.
