I watched a “Brain Games” show once that recommended repeating to yourself what you are after as you cross each threshold. Crossing from room to room has a tendency to “reset” your brain in relation to the new environment. So if you repeat to yourself what you want as you walk you will remember why you went into that room. I have tried it, it works.
I’m told that if one says out loud what s/he wants when setting off to get it, it’s easier to remember it when arriving in the room.Now if I can just remember to DO that, I’ll let you know if it really does work.

If I tell myself, “Never mind, you’ll not remember it anyway,” I’m more likely to remember something.
