It’s interesting that incompetent coaches keep getting recycled from team to team, but incompetent commissioners never get recycled from league to league……
When we talk of football longevity, I always think of the late, great George Blanda. The “Fossil” played terrific football professionally for 26 years. When the Raiders were in trouble, they’d send in “The Grand Old Man” to kick the winning field goal or throw the touchdown pass.If George could withstand a much rougher and more wide open, and dangerous type of football and retire at 48 years young, then there’s no reason a Tom Brady, given continued good health and good protection couldn’t do the same. But they don’t make too many guys like George Blanda, Y.A. Tittle, or Bart Starr anymore.
The NFL principle they are trying to maintain, along with every professional league, is being able to run their affairs without real judges and courts being involved. You can’t have every player who is suspended appealing to the court system, where does it stop?

Mr. Hinds; give it a rest with the Pats and Tom Brady. It is getting tiresome

NFL could win back their right to self-judge their players and invoke suspensions, then still suspend Brady. It’s a matter of principle at this point.
