I cant wait for Wiley’s football poem…..“There stood Clumsy poised for fame, yet stifled victory’s shout”“There stood Clumsy with the ball….one foot in….one foot out.”I know exactly how that feels one fall day playing football in college.Ten yard button hook back of the endzone…….in ripped the ball…..stomach catch……crowd broke into cheers…..I looked down……my heels were on the line. I tossed the ball to the ref just as he raised his arms to call me out of bounds. I said….“Don’t even bother….I know, I know.”The one and only time I ever got the ball in the endzone…..we punched it in on the next play…..I was lead blocker.
