A “natural right”, whatever that is. Guns in the Bible? Natural animals bearing arms?Of course it’s subject to government control. In this case, a Constitutional amendment could end it. I will concede the gun industry would prevent that. And gun owners would take the credit for what their owners did.
Until we actualize sensible gun control legislation and enforcement in America, this dramatic, accurate, and grim editorial cartoon should be ubiquitous.
This cartoon is a prime depiction of the liberal lie. They want everyone to believe three things are behind violence in this country; guns, the gun industry, and the NRA. What none of these idiots blame are the people who are committing violent crime. One has to be seriously mentally deficient before one can exonerate the people who commit the crime in order to push a deranged political agenda.
Yeah, he went down in flames like you did. I wonder if he will go back and try and delete his posts as you did. You never did answer the questions presented to you. Don’t feel bad. Neither has anyone else.
As a gun owner, the NRA “No Rational Alternatives” attitude is the most dangerous to our privilege to own guns when not in the militias. Regulated is not only in the Second Amendment, but was also confirmed by SCOTUS in the D.C. vs Heller decision written by Scalia hisself!
The five percent of “mass” gun homicides propagated by the mentally ill are a problem, but it’s the NINETY FIVE PERCENT of gun homicides committed every day in individual cases that add up a much more massive body count across the country.
Regulation, like CCP licenses as a start and example, are necessary for a safer society, but fear hits a home run every day when the NRA lobbyists are at bat in Congress.
I am happy to read good debate, and I welcome the views of opposing sides. I often learn from both sides, when they have done some research or when they have good ideas. Here’s an example: my own views on gun control have changed somewhat from reading comments here. I still think that there can and should be better regulations, but I also think that other aspects of the problem deserve more consideration. We need to solve a lot of social problems. What I don’t enjoy is angry confrontation. If you have a good point, make your point, and let it speak. If you spout off with repetitive insults your argument loses its force.

So what if a bunch of kids shoot each other every year, all that lovely money. You can make more kids, right?

Go back to the late 90s before the NRA went crazy. You hardly EVER heard of gun crimes.

Even a majority of NRA members favor common-sense restrictions. The NRA doesn’t answer to its members, though, just to the industry.
