    Zonker, the Big Guy won’t even notice you’re gone.

    Mr. Trudeau may have caused a lot of skin cancer problems with his Zonker gloriifiing suntans. This story is an attempt to undo the damage.

    Zonker never looked tanned, though. He was never darker than any of the other characters, which I always thought was weird.

    not vexman, his wife commenting, as usual on his account. Yes, this is all delightful satire or parody; Olympic, self indulgant tanning (toothpicks between toes for eveness). on a serious note though, the sun became a notorious cancer causer, so people began avoiding it, before evidence came to light that aside from skin cancers, lack of sunlight can increase the risk of other cancers, and vitamin D deficiencies.

    Everything in moderation, as they say.

    @vexman

    A dermatologist friend of mine, explained that one of the reason more and more people are getting skin cancers, is that the holes in the ozone layer have caused people to get increased radiation burns, that are far more serious, and damaging, than the sunburns to people, 60 or 70 years ago.The sun’s rays are far more harmful today, even in partially sunny weather.

    A poignant moment indeed for Zonker.

    I haven’t watched a game in years; I just check the standings in Friday’s paper, and didn’t realize how good the Royals are. It seems every time they swing a bat, they make contact, whether it’s a foul, base hit, fly, or inside-the -park home run. I consider them my team because I lived in the KC area and still miss it, 39 years later.
