Clearly big money has hijacked our election process. Nobody can run for a major office without the millions and millions needed to run a campaign. It’s not about ideas anymore, it’s about money backed ideologies. That’s why none of them ever really discuss the issues and problems facing the country in detail. Everything is glittering generalities and ideology and smear campaigns.
Nobody should be allowed to lobby in less than 10 years after leaving Congress, or after the same length of time they spent in Congress has passed if longer than 10 years.
