I wear the klunky kind because I have to replace the original footbed with bulky orthotics. But around the house I put the removed footbed inside of Crocs and get extra arch support.
Memories: My dad used to draw around my foot on a piece of cardboard from a cereal box, and buy me shoes based on that. Sometimes they were okay and sometimes way ugly and no doubt on sale. We did not live in the boonies, either. I wasn’t present for a shoe fitting and the purchase until I graduated and got a job,and bought my own.
