Man in orange: I can never remember the plural of nemesis. Is it nem-us-eye or nem-us-esses? Man in blue: I dunno. I just call them bad guys. Man in red and yellow: I prefer evil-doers. Man wearing D: *Sigh* It's nem-uh-seez. Caption: The lesser-known adventures of dictionary-man.

Dictionary man is an intellectual; an educated super brain. So, why is his head smaller than the muscle bound simpletons?

Lesser known? Deservedly so.

We got tired of getting beat up in about fifth grade, so we keep low profiles in the ‘anti-intellectual’ under-educated, easily-gulled modern society. Once in a while, we raise an alarm, but it falls on deaf (or illiterate) ears…Note: the Proud US Republic is over; now in fact an Oligarchy —(Pres.J.Carter)Good Night, and Good Luck!

This is completely ripped off from Mystery Men (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0132347/). Scene where Captain Amazing meets Cassanova Frankenstein.

Sad, even to some children, they are avoided. Fantasy and some insanity was lost in at a Colorado movie.

@pbarnrob; “Good night and good luck.” quoth Edward R. Murrow… I remember the days. Good analysis of our situation in life, ’cuz nobody likes to be dumber than us smart guys.

Actually I was pondering what the plural of nemesis was just the other day. Now I know. And they say comics aren’t educational.

Since I have been on the internet I’ve had to clamp my tongue (metaphorically) to keep from correcting all the abysmal English I’ve read.Back on a Usenet group we had correspondents from all over the world who could read and write English and those from outside the USA were usually better at our language than we are. I admit that when I was in school I couldn’t be bothered about correct grammar. It wasn’t until I took German in 10th grade that I began to see the relationship between the two languages and the reason we have some odd grammatical constructions as well as some odd spellings. Then after school, spending some 35 years reading British aviation magazines sharpened up my appreciation for well-constructed sentences as well as leaving me with a tendency to spell some words with ’u’s and ’s’s instead of ’z’s.So if that makes me a geek, pbbbbt!

I became a grammar ‘geek’ out of necessity. I have several fb friends who don’t speak english and rely on Google translate which doesn’t work if people are lazy and or make mistakes.

Right. I was wondering if anyone know that Nemesis was a goddess. And are the middle two indicating that they think Nemesis means “bad guy”? Not so. She was the goddess of divine justice, the punisher of those who sinned against the gods, particularly when it involved the sin of pride.
