That’s an easy one according to NASSA and Guinness the record is currently held by Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner, age 48. The cast of 88 skips was achieved on September 6, 2013.

I believe there is a separate record for distance.

Oh and NASSA? The North American Stone Skipping Association. Not to be confused with the North American Shetland Sheepbreeders Association.

I’m skipping stones, I cannot stop.I started with just one, or two, I picked them up.I threw, they flew into air, into sky into lakeI made them fly. Now every stone that I can see, is calling…. Pick ME, Pick Me, Pick Me.

Return to land shouldn’t take as long next time.A kindhearted tsunami might return the stone several miles inland at any time.A refreshing ice age could drop the water level in just a few thousand years.Hot spot/ volcanic uplift could raise it overnight.Plate tectonics could turn his location into Mr Everest..Lots of happy possibilities.

A journey of 10,000,000 years begins with just one step. He should turn sideways and just roll with it, baby. Alan Freed would be proud.

this comic is stolen from Peanuts where Linus throws a rock into the ocean and Charlie Brown says to Linus almost the same thing the rock says.
