Joe Barton is Benedict Arnold. He should run for the Canadian Parliament.

    ‘Not Out Loud!’

I’m not really surprise Barton said something like that. It just proves how craven our, OUR, representatives are.

I’m just surprised that sloppy little corporate BJ was given right in public, on TV. The ‘apology’ for it (really just a big FU to anyone criticizing Barton) was just icing on the cake.

I missed something, apparently. Something about joining some club? Did someone get added to my prestigious group of receiving personally-directed right-wing insults? Congratulations!

    — The humor in this comic is all of the Republicans who are attacking Barton who were, not 3 days ago, saying the EXACT same things, and as one person mentioned on this forum not too long ago, Palin taxed oil profits and gave them to the people. If that, by comparison, isn’t a “shakedown…”.

But hey, now they hop from “oh blah blah that’s unconstitutional” to “hey this is totally fair, $5 billion every year for 4 years for something they broke so people don’t have to go through 20 years of litigation to never see ANYTHING from it.” If you missed it, watch last night’s Daily Show, where Stewart points out the abrupt about-face of several ranking Republicans on this issue over the course of 3 days.

^ Ditto, Brobst. We don’t need an oil slave, we already have Harper…and we only tolerate him until the PLC can get its act together.

Fairportfan2, ANandy deletes her own posts. She’s said so herself.

She often posts a dozen or so times a day, yet her total since Dec 2008 is currently only 397. Do the math.

Um, DrC, CF, you do know that Canada (especially in the Calgary area) is considered one of the hot areas for new oil supplies, thanks to the Oil Sands, right? So don’t get too self-righteous - Canadians are talking about destroying the sands to get oil, on a big scale.

^That’s what I said; we don’t need oil guys, we already have Stephen Harper. Mr. Tar sands himself.

My reaction, to quote Stephen Colbert’s Six Word Autobiography:

“Well, I thought it was funny.”

Barton wasn’t saying anything the rest of the GO(B)P aren’t thinking. He just made the mistake of saying it where others could hear.

^Its not just Billdog (alleged) who flags. There are many others who flag here as well. One of the victims of constant flagging was Zekedog and he was cool. Now he’s gone.

Thanks again SuperGriz for the sneak peek of this toon. HA!

How about the Native Americans that were lied to, had their treaties broken, their land taken and systematically forced off their best lands onto reservations requiring 100’s of miles travelling to get there?

^ Got a point, but calling someone a drunk is still childish.

There’s a difference with conservatives; they REALLY DO THINK we are baby murderers and reistered members of their scarecrow, the NAMBLA.

The truth of the Zeke matter is he was ASKING if davesmithsit was a boozer. Never did “call” him a drunk, from all the posts I read.

In my opinion, calling someone a “putz” is a tad mean spirited…but then again, spirits come in many different percentages by volume.

Inquiring minds want to know. Name callers already seem to.

Is it just me or do the political disagreements frequently break down to the level of Star Trek vs. Star Wars fanboy geeks arguing about their favorite side…?

    “Is too!”

    “Is not!”

Sheesh! Left-wing, right-wing…everybody knows you need two wings and a brain to fly.

…unless you have warp drive, of course…

Thanks, fennec. My takes are a result of (what I believe to be) rational thought.

Wild that you would mention the champagne mango–years ago while driving through Chiapis, I marveled at the acres and acres of mango groves. Turns out that the Chiapis region is where the champagne mango was first hybridized.

We named our captured feral kitten Mango because the week he found us we were feasting on mango salads, and of course he was just the right color.

Now his insults (yea, even a quarter of them!) are deadly?
