Cars and Ice cream aren’t designed and intended to kill when used properly and according to instructions. BTW: NYTimes this moring article on the INCREASE this year in homicides, gun envolved.
I’ve used guns as designed, and in combat, killed people with them. Used as intended in law enforcement, arrested many people, never shot one. While hunting, killed deer, pronghorn, rabbits, and other critters- to eat, as intended.
A large part of the gun problem is indeed not the gun, but the cultural acceptance of it’s presence, and the consequences as “unavoidable because there are crazy people out there”. Those repesent a miniscule number of those doing the shooting.
The “John Wayne/Rooster Cogburn” effect makes folks accept a mythical and unrealistic level of gun presence, and violence.

Lets see how much Tarredandfeathered lied with his facts. Cuthwald said you were more likely to die of a food born illness than being shot with your own gun. In response, Tarredandfeathered pretends that every single death by firearms by any means at all was done with the person’s own gun. How is that for outright dishonesty? Pretty pathetic!.So lets look at the real facts. The number of people who are killed by accident each year in their own homes is around 600. 5,000 deaths a year by food born illness is about right. In other words, you are over eight times more likely to die from a food born illness than you are being shot with your own gun..Yeah, Tarredandfeathered. Them darn pesky facts sure made you look like a fool.

Using a gun safely doesn’t kill you. Eating ice cream ‘safely’ can kill you if it’s contaminated.

you are more likely to die from food poisoning than being shot by your own gun and less likely to be shot if you own a gun.

Since I’m a relatively healthy adult, I stand a good chance of surviving food poisoning. I’m not so sure about surviving a hail of bullets.

All the senseless studies, surveys, statistics, demographics, etc., are worthless to deceased victims via bullets/guns.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
What do those words in bold mean? Are they just in there randomly to make it a little longer?
If you decide to respond, please note there are three words in bold, not just one.

2011: Homicides by handgun: 7,230, other types of firearms; 2,690. Non-fatal victimizations: handguns- 389,400, other types of firearms-49,700.
I’d say we DO have a gun problem in the U.S..
BTW, 1015 is seeing a notable INCREASE in gun violence.

Sorry, that’s 2015, not a lot of gun deaths in 1015.

If a man smites you, turn the other cheek. Not much cheek left to turn if he smites you with a .45 APC round, hollow point for self-defense of course.
