SO many things factoring in to this story! There’s Bribery, Diet, Mumbles (and the whole Blackheart crew), Honeymoon & Annie (and I sincerely doubt that they wouldn’t report what they have seen!) This already-great story is just getting better every day!

Handling a large cast can be taxing on the writer.

I’m amazed at how many characters this strip has. I got behind with tallying all the characters in the last story, but it’s somewhere around 40.

Jerryjohn52 from yesterday: I did have an idea no one else mentioned. Perhaps they are loading up the gold to be shipped out according to Bribery’s plan.

I think you could be right, actually. Given today’s strip where a truck is driving away and the crate is nowhere to be seen, that crate could well have been a shipment going out rather than one coming in.

The warning to be careful could be because the gold is very heavy and could break the crate. On the other hand, Mr. Bigg did say something about treasure arriving at any moment, so it could be that. A third possibility is that the crate has those “relics” that Diet Smith talked about, but again, if that was a shipment coming in, where did it go?

Mumbles is not smart….

Judging by Annie’s comments, the Am does not put his treasures on display without setting them up to defend themselves. Don’t even think about messing with them, Mumbles…

Is the crate/treasure/relics a collection of shrunken heads? Bribery had a passion for preserving his “friends” that way.

I still like Honeymoon’s new haircut. I don’t SEE her Wrist Wizard, so how is she going to report this to her PopPop? Or will the girls go all Nancy Drew and try to stop Mumbles on his own?

Good Storyline—even GREAT storyline isn’t enough.Just the variety of characters and the delicate weaving together of various storylines has been incredible. And those of you who have been adding the historical perspectives—thank you.

Morning, Tracy Fans!

I can’t imagine Honeymoon going anywhere without her Wrist Wizard, so I bet she has it in her pocket. Or maybe she packed it in Annie’s backpack. Either way, I expect her to give Pop Pop a call and alert him of Mumbles’ presence.

I tell ya, I’m really digging this new strip, “The amazing, fabulous adventures of the Tracyville Chicks”!

With the truck pulling out in panel 1 (and no visible activity around the loading area, other than the presence of Mumbles), it seems that yesterday’s crate was an outgoing shipment of something or other. It could be some of the gold, on its way to salting an old mine. I guess. So far Mumbles has, as far as we know, not spotted the girls, so they are safe for the moment. But I worry about what will happen if they decide to become a bit bolder and more adventurous and enter the tower, not just for Gallery 52. And where is TBolt lurking? I’m still puzzled about Johnny Adonis in hospital/Johnny Adonis in Florida. I hope we will get some explanation soon…

Maybe too many characters? Annie seems to be just a piece of furniture. Side kick. Not much character development so far.

Annie is a great sidekick for Honeymoon. These girls are smart, tenacious and courageous. They dealt with the sneering insults of the bullies. Now they have spotted Mumbles, a far more dangerous character. What has Honeymoon spotted on the ground? She has the makings of a detective.

Its a bigg house of cars, this 52 tower…TBC

That would be hilarious. I don’t think it’s ever been shown that Lunarians can read Earth people’s thoughts, has it? Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does think in mumbles.——————————-———————————————————————-

Yesterday, Neil and bagert raised the question of vocally silent mental THOUGHT communication (or Laser Thought as Author Chet Gould ‘coined it’)’

The best remembered illustration of USE of this sllent messaging, occurred in April 1965 when Moon Maid was ‘tricked’ by Matty Square into entering a Giant Steel Vault and found herself trapped inside and unable to come out,

In desperation by “THOUGHT” she contacted her father the Moon Governor who was then on a Space Coupe flight halfway back to the Moon, begging him to returns to save her..The relevant sequence appears below for those that may not have earlier seen it . . .

What Gould never did ‘address’ is the PRIVACY of information on these calls between individuals ?

For example, would other Moon crew member or Moon (or those on the Moon) automatically hear the conversation even though it was not directed specifically to them ?Or was the conversation confined only to the MIND to which it was directed ?

Gould never felt the need to tell us (?)

But one must assume that thought calls were confined and closed to others similarly gifted . . .Otherwise, think of the “confusion” with (say) 4.000 ‘conversations’ running through ones mind at the same time !

As Neil suggests, it doesn’t appear that Moon people thought power extended to reading the ‘minds’ of their Earth counterparts
