    Urban legend, by the way.

    One can find both counterclockwise and clockwise flowing drains in both hemispheres. It all depends upon how the water was introduced and the geometric structure of the drain and not upon the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect affects moving air but is too weak to affect such small bodies of water.
