He’s wishing he was “toasted” instead of drunk. It’s a “bread-head” thing.

I think it’s funny because I can recall a cigarette brand that advertised on TV that their product was…..wait for it….toasted

However you slice it up, it’s funny.

THese days, it’s not the tobacco that’s toasted, but Starbucks coffee beans. And, by me, it tastes worse for being burned.
