My wife makes this stuff she calls soup. It is basically pureed vegetables. It has a specific gravity of about 1,000. You can almost eat it with a fork.
You can use the stuff to shield nuclear reactors as evidenced by the fact that it is impossible to microwave. You stick it in the oven for 30 seconds and the edges are boiling but the center is still refrigerator temperature. You have to stir it every 15 seconds for about 5 minutes to cook it.
And for all that, it is exceptionally nutritious and always yummy (it never tastes the same, but it is always good).
Although we have one, my esposa Ecuatoriana, has yet to master the art of microwave cooking, preferring to cook at high heat on our gas stove. She is an excellent cook but is somewhat distrustful of modern appliances. She still prefers to cook a guiso ( stew ) or caldo ( soup ) on the stove. I use the slow-cooker for lots of dishes, including stews, when I cook, but she has yet to use it. She figures what was good enough for her mother and grandmother is good enough for her.Believe me, I am not complaining ! Mom taught her well.

What if you’re supposed to eat it for lunch?

No, you pour it in a Thermos, so it’ll still be warm round noontime.

well that’s certainly better than the “liquid lunches” many executives I’ve know have
