Nice big lake (Long Lake) in front of my home here in northern Maine. Very few boats….ever. Someone on the island set off fireworks for about an hour last night….nice. If this were southern Maine or New Hampshire the place would be a Zoo all summer. Here it is beautiful and peaceful year round. I’m blessed.
We sold our house near a lake in southern Maine because it was so noisy all year long… fireworks all summer, speedboats, and snowmobiles all winter (I called them the buzzing bees), all times of the day and night. So much for quiet lake living. Never again.

We stay away from a nearby lake on holiday weekends. Too many noisy jet-skis and motorboats constantly roaring.
