Both Hubby and I had disastrous first marriages, and even after 40 years of bliss, we are amazed at how blessed we are. And Sporty, she may not be wearing a night gown.
Too bad a long marriage is wasted on folks like you and your wife. My husband and I met and married late in life. We would love to have 30 years plus together. As it is, for what ever short our time together is, it will be happy, loving and very much appreciated.
Boy. Run an ambiguous strip, and you find out a lot about people. You know, you have to get old, but you get to decide what it means to you. .We’re 66 and 65, and if you told me a 30 it would be this good at 66, I’d have called you a liar and laughed in your face. I am better at life in every way. Even the aches and pains make be live with more deliberation. (I’ve lost the adrenaline addiction of my youth that prompted the activities that created the aches and pains.) I refuse to walk like an old man. I refuse to talk like an old man. I refuse to think like an old man.
After 30 + years, my hubby is still the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I don’t think we’re the exception, at least not in our crowd. But, over the years we’ve had to work hard not to let our marriage get to the point where we couldn’t stand to be in the same room. It was worth it.
“She says she can hardly stand to be in the same room with me anymore, but at least the feeling is mutual.”.Not me but I can see it for thee. And it might not be related to
My hubby and me have separate bedrooms, we work/sleep on different schedules so this works best for us. We do however have conjugal meetups at least once or twice a week and when I get home of an evening, we have what we call “family cuddles” him me and the 2 furbabies all lay down and get attention talk about our day etc. Then we make dinner. Our relationship has gotten better since we got separate beds/bedrooms since we both are getting full night sleep. Each relationship is different, judging the health of yours by someone else’s standards only can cause issues if you let it. This works for me/hubby but might not work for others.
Who knew preferences would change as the years go. Ours did. Sleeping together or apart does not mean the end of intimacy! Whatever works and I see a lot of you feel that way also. My hub is gone and I would give anything to have just one more cuddle!
don’t you guys get it? the house is quiet. they can finally relax the pressure is off. oh and if you don’t want to you don’t have to perform. ahhhh. another plus, no running off to work once you are both retired.
I’m impressed that, after all this time of being drawn the way she’s been drawn, Janis has immense trouble believing two things: (1) she still has a bangin’ bod and (2) Arlo still wants to bang it.

Is that a bare (sans nightgown) shoulder I spy on Janis? Looks like this cuddle is following somewhat more vigorous activity. Good for them!

The color on her should is wrong for skin, that’s her nightgown.

The sheets are not ruffled. Their hair is not a mess. They have discovered that they are content with snuggling.

As you age, you can be satisfied with a lot less, like just cuddling. That’s how I interpreted this strip.
