I usually replace the furnace filter in the October timeframe. When I fire it up for the first time as the cold approaches. That way there is no dust from the summer settled on it.
Indeed. And the kids today are worse than my peers and I were at being kids of our day, and I can totally prove it, and I am not at all jealous of their youth and good health! LOL

Why is he changing the furnace filter at this time of year?
I guess I do – I take out the heavy-duty winter ‘allergen’ filter, and insert a cheapo so it doesn’t restrict A/C air flow…
