I’d like to, but we need a LOT more outrage from citizens in all political parties to make that happen. Right now, pretty much everyone in Congress is beholden to the corporations who helped put them there, let alone the presidential aspirants of the GOP and Democratic parties.

There was a factoid yesterday that said that about half the people leaving Congress get jobs as lobbyists at three times the pay and that doesn’t count all of the under the table stuff.

Simply force term limits by voting out anyone who has served more than four years. Oh, wait…that would mean citizens would actually have to go out and vote!!!

While what you say is true, the people who would have the power to make that amendment have skin in the game. Without some type of revolution, that amendment will never happen.

So … the Clintons are exclusively blazing new trails in outrageous speaking fees? No republicans or other politicians on this stage?

I imagine that when Clintons and other democrats do the same thing other politicians do, it is especially egregious. I agree, while I remain a fan of Mr. Toles, this cartoon seems unfair.

“You can pass a constitutional amendment overturning it.”No, only the elected politicians can pass a constitutional amendment. Seeing as how they are the benefactor of the ruling, it’s highly unlikely that either side will do anything of substance to end it.

Whatever Mrs. Clinton’s virtues, and I am sure they are many, if she is elected president the US political system will completely freeze because of the obstruction she will face. If you think it’s been bad for Obama, just wait. Personally, I would prefer another candidate, just for that reason alone.
