Goldfish do that. They will leap out of the tank if you don’t keep it covered. I came home from work once and found my goldfish on the floor next to the tank, stiff as a board. I tossed him back into the tank so the cat wouldn’t eat him while I went to change clothes. When I came back to get rid of the dead fish, he was swimming around in the tank. He lived 3 more years, and I covered the tank.
