I think it’s about time Rob rolled up that list of Satchel’s, and tested IT on an animal.

Shouldn’t the PETA/Vegan people volunteer to be the test subjects on new products?

    Etymology:

    n.

1780, “mud, muddy land,” from Irish slab “mud, mire dirt,” itself probably borrowed from English slab “muddy place” (c.1600), from a Scandinavian source (cf. Icelandic slabb “sludge”). The meaning “untidy person” is first recorded 1887, from earlier expressions such as slob of a man (1861).

Perhaps Satch should become a breatharian.

I love how in the last frame you see that Rob’s shirt says “ok panic”.

I guess this is where the expression, “Stop dogging me!” comes from. Or it should.

My great-great grandfather came to the U.S. from Oylgate, Co. Wexford, a little ways west of Screen and North Slob.

Unfortunately, Conely makes a serious situation seem goofy with his typical overkill. Hard to take it seriously after this strip (AFAIK, no cola company in the US does animal testing on any of their consumer products) but the fact remains that more than 80,000,000 animals were killed in the USA last year for testing. That’s a lot.

Is a fair amount of the work in the name of legit medical advancement and the like? Certainly. Does the number have to be that high? Definitely not. But sacrificing animals instead of simulations and modelling is cheaper – and money talks.

Satchel, have you paused to consider what your dog food is made of?
