Got all of my tomato plants in, all 72 of them. Now only time will tell how good a crop we will have. Hope to have some rain on Sun., Mon. and Tues. Now I can work on other things that need to be done.
Good weekend, good people..We’er looking at a fair day at least this morning, T-storms in the PM..I heard on the TV that El Nino is responsible for Texas’ really bad weather.Didn’t hear from David yesterday, hope it’s only a power outage..Not a lot going on today, my weekly search for food n that’s about it..Have a really good weekend ya’all..ttfn
David hasn’t yet posted on “Annie” yet today, either. I hope he’s ok.
Yesterday got up to 106 here in Henderson, and today is supposed to be hotter. At least it still gets down into the 70’s at night. That will change later in the summer.
We talked to the surgeon yesterday, and he was really pushing the surgical alternative until Michael mentioned his stents. He immediately backed off and said he would not do the operation unless M’s cardiologist cleared it first. So now we postpone everything until he can see the heart doctor.
Thanks, McPheeters for contacting David. I’m anxious to hear, also. Sorry to hear about your Sister’s electrical fire. I’ll bet it’ll be a while before she finds someone to work on it, too.
Arthur………….72 TOMATO PLANTS?!?!!!!!!!! Whoa!!!!Are you growing enough for the whole Village? We scaled back our garden this year because we’ll be gone at the end of summer (peak growing and the start of harvesting), and only put in 4 tomatoes. They have already started producing.
Arye…….how about your allergies? Did they ever calm down?
Rita: The reason I have so many is because I have a friend who has back problems and has not been able to work for about 30 years so he gardens for a hobby. He starts plants from seed and what he doesn’t plant, he gives away. He gives me about 120 or so each year, different varieties, which I in turn give about half away to my family and some friends. We don’t ago way like you do so there is no problem when they ripen. We also will plant some squash, cucumbers and Italian green beans. My wife used to do most of it but can’t anymore because of her back and hip problems.
It got up to 71 yesterday. Today it’s supposed to be closer to 80.
Thanks for your info, Arthur. I really miss not growing all those veggies. But, this summer we’ll rely on the folks at the Farmer’s Market for the good stuff. So………if we make it to the East Coast this fall, can we stop in for some tomatoes?
Hello Vagabonds..Another beautiful day in the NEK, if you like rain that is..Well, It’s good to know that David is not floating down the river and out to sea.Prayed for Texas in Church..OK, I’m going to move along to the rest of my toons catch ya’all tomorrow if not sooner..ttfn

Good morning, Vagabonds.
Thanks McPheeters for the update about David. It’s so easy to worry about someone living in the middle of a disaster zone. It’s good to know he’s OK.
It’s gonna be another hot one here in Henderson. It would be a good day to go back up Mt. Charleston and get into 20 degree cooler temps.
Church this morning and then we’re going out for brunch at The Egg Works. Great food and friendly atmosphere.
