    Morning, Village!

We had some excitement yesterday. It finally dried out enough to mow the grass. So I went outside to check and found a tiny baby deer curled up right in the middle of the front yard. I called the local National Preserve and then the game warden and found out that that’s what mama deer do. They’ll leave their babies hidden in tall grass and go off to feed. The game warden told me to just leave it alone and mama will come back later and get it. Sure enough, later in the afternoon, mama came and got it.

Good morning, Vagabonds. @David, did you take a photo of the baby?

Good morning Vagabonds...Sounds like you had quite the experience. The fawn won’t move unless forced to.On all my walks through the woods I’ve never come across a fawn hidden by it’s mother. What type of deer was it?.Our gray day yesterday never got any better, and today has started about the same. (ehh).A nice day to all..ttfn

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I’m making brownies for my fellowship group this morning. I’ll save a few for the Vagabonds. (I have the neatest brownie pan. It has partitions in it so all of the brownies are “edge” pieces. Looking down from above, it looks like a mouse maze.

Temp should be a bit cooler today, only around 80, then maybe some more rain tomorrow. I sure am enjoying the beautiful spring weather!

    Good morning, Villagers,

David…………..how exciting! I’d love to see the pictures, too!We only have mule deer, and mamma doesn’t bring the babies around to see us until the end of June or so. We assume she has them well hidden until then.

Jan……..that brownie pan sounds great! So many times Jack and I fight over the end pieces! I’ll have to look for one up here.

I’ve started the “thinning” process of the seedlings in the greenhouse. Only the kale and cilantro were big enough to start thinning.

Rita, it’s called a “Baker’s Edge Nonstick Edge Brownie Pan”, and you can find it on the Baker’s Edge website (http://www.bakersedge.com) for $35.95. There are several other sites that have it for $1 less. (Amazon has it for $99, but why would I pay that much?)
