    Another person using the wrong word. He was shocked, not electrocuted. I work at an electric utility and most of us use it wrong as well.“Electrocution is death caused by electric shock, either accidental or deliberate. The word is derived from “electro” and “execution”, but it is also used for accidental death"

    But “Says the guy who[m] I’ve SEEN shock himself TWICE” would have been too vague in the context of being careful of mold in the basement. There would have had to be other words making clear he was electrically shocked. The medium requires a concise dialog to fit within the small format. “Electrocute” fits the requirements here.

    That “who” instead of “whom”, however…sigh.

    And on that subject, it is no fun at all! With me, it was a lamp cord that I didn’t see had been partially stripped. And the worst part is, you can’t let go of the blamed thing!

    The electricians told us to check the back of the utilities cabinets if we ever smelled bacon cooking and make sure nobody was in trouble.
