Time to get facts straight. POTUS can lead but not with obstructionists who vowed to destroy his presidency from before he took the oath of office. And, of course, now that Republicans have majorities in both the House and the Senate, they have the responsibility of leading, too, not just whining. So far, their budgets consist of cutting assistance to those who need it most and cutting taxes for those who need it least.

Typical liberal, expects everything to come to them and fall in their laps. Way too much effort to exert.

@wmconnelly“The right to life is the source of all rights — and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.” – Ayn

When you talk of how you might putting “Money to work for Everyone” you try to raise communism up out of it’s own ashes.

Your ideas of Wealth distribution have been tried over and over again with the same failed result. Because Men and Women aren’t willing to sacrifice and suffer for some nameless individual out of sight who seems like nothing more then a parasite.

I don’t know if you have children but let me offer you a perspective as a parent. I’m willing to sacrifice everything I earn and own to give my children the best shot at a successful and happy future. I’m not willing to do the same for some nameless kid 100 miles away. And before you assume that I’m an anomaly ponder for a minute why: The USSR failed, China loosened up their Economic controls, North Korea is starving it’s people out, Cuba is failing, Venezuela is failing.

Put away your tired Marxist ideas and join the 21st century.

@CDWARD – and yet Reagan managed. The difference between Reagan and Obama is that Reagan was a leader and Obama is not!!

Ah, typical of Harley when she is off her meds and staying up all night. Delusional thinking with a full-on psychotic break from reality.

The middle class has been falling behind for the last couple of decades but conservatives try to blame it all on President Obama. Republican leadership left him with a major financial meltdown but somehow none of that counts. Clearly they provided little guidance or help over the last four years. A rising tide will raise all boats even it it doesn’t. They can do no wrong and should be worshiped.

With 50 states, we have 50 laboratories to determine success or failure of various methods.States that have raised the minimum wage, for instance, and implemented other ‘liberal’ solutions (i.e., those intended to help workers at the bottom) have growing economies, regardless of location. Those who embody the conservative ideals, the red states, are falling behind in every positive measure except for their measured ability to suck at the government teat. The red-ink states are little laboratories of failure, not only economically, but in how they treat their people.

@Simon_Jester – I don’t know about Jeebus but if you are rich you probably learned the following lessons: How to manage money, how to say away from self destructive behaviors i.e. Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, teenage pregnancy, dropping out of school et al.

Too many, like you, want to criticize the wealthy has having somehow gotten their wealth unfairly. I guess the theory is that because you can’t figure out how to get rich legally it must not be possible.

The tea-party is an amorphous and ill defined amalgamate of ideas and concerns and it certainly houses some religious conservatives but it also houses groups that don’t think the government should be in the business of taking from the industrious to provide handouts to the indolent. That has nothing to do with Jeebus and everything to do with allowing the person who earned the money to determine whether or not a certain charitable group is actually deserving of their charity.

The Federal Government has proven to be a VERY poor decider of whom should receive tax dollars and whom should not. At least when it was done at the community level through churches and civic organizations we could keep an eye on the recipients and make sure they are using the money appropriately. Now we see the money flowing into communities that openly sneer at the values and morals of the people providing that tax money and living lives of depravity and decay.

“Fact: Obama played golf”Big whomping deal. He plays about once a week on average. Bush played golf. Clinton played golf. Bush Sr played golf. Damn near every politician in the last 50 years played golf. You don’t see them constantly depicted playing golf as a means of derision.
