Just because they feed a captive very, very large mammal in a very, very, very small tank doesn’t make them good people. These animals are meant to have freedom in a huge ocean. I applaud their efforts to nurse sick and wounded animals back to health but putting an Orca or porpoise in a small tank is inhumane.
And those in the picture are not the people who tear them away from their families in the wild, or in captivity if that’s where they’re born. Let’s see, I seem to remember that part of our country did that a century and a half ago. Remind me, what did we call that?
Captivitiy for “wild” animals does indeed suck, but so does extinction in the wild, where humans have destroyed all habitats, world-wide for many species.
PETA also sucks with their constant anthropomorphizing of animals, and total misunderstanding of animal behavior in “the wild”. (eat or be an appetizer), or all those habitat zones like desert, jungle, savannah, oceans, streams, or lakes, where we can’t live.
Deliberate mistreatment is wrong, but nether is our prison system for humans, and the minor crimes for which foks of the wrong “identity” routinely serve more time than the favored, and that actually is true in ALL cultures, pretty much.
You know you are behind the times when even the circus is stopping the uses of Elephants in their acts way before a ‘credible’ zoo does with their whales.
