Same thing with our first Border Collie. We didn’t’ know there was problem until a lump bigger than a golf ball appeared on the side of his throat. Turns out, he got wood bits from the end of a stick he picked up by the end stuck into his throat and it caused a huge infected sore. Poor baby! Doc took care of it and we were VERY careful after that.
