Of course, the flaw in that whole "Turn Lead into Gold idea is that, if anyone ever Succeeded, Gold would soon be worth a Lot Less than Lead because, once all the Lead has been turned into Gold, people would discover all sorts of places where a bit of Lead would be very Useful while Gold would not..As a for instance, if you are in the business of making Crystal, lead is a necessary ingredient.Gold, OTOH, turns the glass a rather nice shade of Ruby Red. Valuable in itself, but if the request was for a Clear Crystal, you’d soon be wishing for some of that Gold to be turned Back into Lead.
