“Hoo, Boy!”, Indeed!

Blaze cringes. I wonder why, exactly. Maybe it’s a combination of things. I don’t think she wanted a public statement that she had been working for Mr. Crime, right? Also, I think the “low profile” and “practically invisible” remarks can be read as an insult on her height. Also, she doesn’t want to become the “courier.” Well, I did say that Blaze stood out for me in that “line-up” panel, so there’s her “prize.”

The “8” is upside-down on that playing card. Maybe a lot of people wouldn’t notice that, but it really stands out for me. :(

Hey Neil Wick, would you agree that these two writers do a good job of mixing old classic villains with new ones ? I wish there was away they could bring back Flattop. Mumbles, B.B Eyes and Abner Kadaver all came back from the dead.

The “8” looks right to me; small circle on top.-————That’s just it. The problem is that end of the card would have the 8 upside-down. (Small circle on the bottom.)Good catch, Neil!

On today’s strip, I have to admit I’m a little surprised Mr. Bigg didn’t follow up on the threat he made on Saturday:The last statement there was pretty ominous, and it made me think someone was going to die. I suppose it could still happen, but it sounds like he’s now moving on to other business….

I know Mike said Blaze is a dominatrix. But the way she’s behaving, I don’t think she could whip cream.

No, I don’t think it has a capability of listening to her, only knowing where she is (like a GPS transmitter).

..… a sad note; my baby chick “Birdie” just went into everlasting sleep … I am 64 years old and I am not ashamed to tell you that I have tears in my eyes right now … one cannot imagine how much joy that 4 day old little thing brought into our home … have not been to bed and cannot sleep, but I’m sure time and God well help …. my, my my oh my this is painful..thought writing this would help but so far it is not

Looks like Mr. Bigg is weeding out the deadwood. Has to keep costs down.

I have enjoyed all of the speculation on the identity of Mr. Bigg. Posey Ermine is a good suggestion as is Purdy Fallar. I think Pearshape is a non-starter but could be wrong.

Actually considering the names “Apollo, Venus and T-Bolt” and so much emphasis on re-acquiring both Moon Maid and a Space Coupe, perhaps Mr. Bigg is the Moon Governor whose heretofore unknown first name is Zeus.

Well, it’s as good a guess as some of the others….

’Neil’s right !The salient problems (Plural) with that 8 of Hearts card, really*-* not only are the hearts colored black (guess – ‘reflective’ of the name of the Group) … but what’s further unusual, and holding one’s eye attention, is that the entire*framed* card picture of Black Hearts has been installed/ hung in - an “UPSIDE DOWN” position ?Presented that way, both today and back on March 28On a “conventional” 8 symbol - playing card, the top 5 Hearts would be in an upright position, while 3 of them, would face down in reverse manner.

The presentations of Mar, 28 and again today, have the pictures hung “upside down”

.A look back to last year 10-28-14 shows the same wall picture (behind Venus) but properly hung in an upright manner,

And we’re all left to wonder on the specifics of yet another ITEM - what’s . . . the ‘significance’ of the numeral “8” to the Group ? . . .Eight ‘Senior Leaders’ ?? If we don’t count Méliés, (think) - he’s a notch down, below Venus and Apollo, and of course - Mr. Bigg . . .But who, and where (?) are the other Five ? Still to be introduced ?

Further, haven’t done a good back check. but do have a feint recall, of a framed Blackheart numeral “6” card - on one occasion ! ?

Blaze’s face says it all in one word. “DOH!”And if you’re listening Neil, I think you’re on to something when you say Team Tracy is good at “mixing anything with anything.” I think they’re just that good.

“Nothing like a little fear injection to get everybody’s attention.”Yeah, but then Mr. Bigg let them off the hook. Or so it seems. Last week, when Venus looked alarmed and Apollo said “We’re dead fish dead!”, it got me thinking bodies were going to fall:On the other hand, when Mr. Bigg showed everyone he had BB-Eyes’ brother, that proved he’s ruthless enough. Mr. B is a businessman, and everything (the sudden appearance and dress inspection, bringing B.D. Eyes along) was calculated to maximize apprehension and teach everyone (especially the new gang members) they’d better not even think of crossing him. Mission accomplished on that score! Then by giving BB-Eyes a “reprieve,” he comes across as magnanimous — not as odious as if he had pulled out a pistol and shot someone, which could have backfired and encouraged disloyalty. Pretty cagey guy, this Mr. Bigg.

“We are talking about Mysta? How are the Blackhearts tracking her again? I had forgotten about that.”I’m not sure we were ever told exactly how the Blackhearts were tracking Mysta, just that they were. For some reason I had it in my brain that a tracking mechanism was placed inside her horns (which are now organic), but that may have only been my assumption. All we can say for sure I suppose is that the Blackhearts at least were tracking Mysta at one time, and may still have that ability (though I agree with Pequod77 that there are reasons to doubt it).

To everyone snickering because I’ve theorized Mr. Bigg is Penguin — just you wait! Who was it that figured out ahead of time that Mysta used to be Mindy Ermine? hehe

On March 28, 2015, we saw the following:

This was with the eight members of the Blackhearts, minus Mr. Bigg. Possibly this was foreshadowing of the eight of hearts card we see in today’s strip.

Earlier, on March 27, 2015, we saw a conversation between Blaze and Double Up, in which Blaze asks if the Munro brothers are around:

As we saw earlier, the Munros were part of the Moon Maid project. I’m just wondering if the eight of hearts in today’s strip indicates a possibility that something sinister might happen with the Munros.

Speaking of Blaze, does anyone else think she looks like a cross between Flattop and Jimmy Olsen?-—————-She and her sister were definitely channeling there inner Jimmy Olsen.The first few times I saw Hot Rize, I kept thinking, who does she remind me of? And when it hit me, I almost fell over laughing.Hey, you don’t think they could be Jimmy’s daughters, do you?

@Nightshade09“Could the GPS transmitter be hidden in Mysta’s pearls? She never seems to remove them.”Mysta always wears pearls with her classic moon costume, just like the original Moon Maid did. However, the last two times we’ve seen Mysta (March & May 2014), she was wearing a halter dress and then a caped costume — and in neither appearance did she wear pearls. I somewhat doubt the Blackhearts would have hidden the transmitter in an accessory she doesn’t always wear.

BB-Eyes is lucky he answered correctly, I think Mr. Bigg was about to flip a Bogger at him! LOL!

I don’t actually play cards much at all, but I spotted the “8” soon enough. I comes from years of putting away metal type. I can easily spot letters and numbers that are upside-down or backwards.

I’m good at spelling, but extremely bad at typing, especially when I’m in a hurry. I’m just running out of time, so I think I’ll wait and post my comment about playing cards on tomorrow’s strip.
