We could use some of that spraying now for the hipsters in my neighborhood.

The spraying theme is probably linked to the paraquat spraying program, if I remember my ancient history correctly. ’80 – ’81 sounds about right.

“so YOU, can get ALL your unearned inheritance money.”.How do you know they didn’t earn the inheritance money? Some worked very hard to be left that money.(And even if they didn’t, shouldn’t a person be allowed to do with what she has as she wishes?)

And do what with the money ? The liberals get it and dole it out to a bunch of entitlement-non working slackers in the hopes of garnering votes.

One of the purposes of inheritance tax is to guard against the creation of de facto royalty. Social mobility, both up and down, is a sign of a healthy society. Inasmuch as it kicks in, on a federal level, only once an estate reaches multiple millions of dollars, the VAST majority of families will not have to pay it.

Don’t forget the famous fruit fly state-wide spraying in California. One state official actually drank a glass of the spray to show it was safe for humans.

You mean the “Paris Hilton” tax? The one that allows somebody who may have actually earned money to leave it to his spoiled, worthless, lazy descendants?

I saw a picture on facebook yesterday of a row of little tiny houses — not sure what they were made out of — that were put up to house the homeless. As I remember a time in the US when we never saw homeless people, I think huge excesses of money could be better spent in this type of endeavor. I do feel people should be afforded the basic necessities of life (housing, food, medical necessities, transportation) and if they are incapable of providing them, then society should take over. We shouldn’t have people fired from a good-paying job one month and found frozen to death under a bridge a month later (as happened in a nearby neighborhood). But all of this requires empathy — something sorely lacking in US mentality.
