I saw my first fax on the local PBS channel in about 1967. I didn’t believe it; I thought the picture that had been faxed was rolled up inside the machine. I was only about 6 at the time, though.
A somewhat enlarged image can be found at the only work, by this artist, so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog (yesterday). Again, it is a slightly cropped image, this time of the larger detail image found here.Caxton Showing the First Specimen of His Printing to King Edward IV at the Almonry, Westminster may be privately owned; I can’t say for sure.I say detail image, because this (Description has links to Wikipedia pages of identified individuals) shows a wider, click-to-enlarge, b&w image of it, taken from an online book archive. The artist’s Wikipedia page and collection.First work, by this artist, to be used here.
