Out of respect to diversity, Trudeau added a normal character.

They’ll get tired of each other. It normally comes about 7 years into the relationship.

I can appreciate how Drew feels. About all I hear are problems my wife might have. Rarely does she have any real, active problems in her life. It is always about what could happen, and it almost never does.

Hello all; I mostly lurk, rarely comment – but wanted to thank fbjsr. You’re an inspiration!

Susan, Alex seems to be more focused/obsessed on the relationship than Toggle. After going through the war, Toggle’s has developed a calmer karma, is less high stung, and has learned to prioritize what’s important to freak over. I don’t think anyone can say one is more benefited than the other.

    Kindda looks like equality.

    stebon,

Now that is funny, but not in the way you intended.

“Sierra mist liberal?” Is this a particularly American reference, I didn’t quite get it…

    Signed,

Your pedantic, romantic, frantic, dyspeptic academic

    Hi liamsmom,

It delights me that you enjoyed my comment. The sierra mist was just a playful play on all the other (rather fanciful) “ists” in my signature. Here in the States there’s a very minor soft drink called Sierra Mist (it’s a Sprite wanna be), which served as the “inspiration.”

I’m always amused by the level of projection by so many folks on the right. Often, I’m not even sure whether they’re aware of it, but I couldn’t let stebon’s ridiculous generalization pass without a bit of comment.

    Cheers.

stebon said, “Why liberals are so miserable–they make things up about which to be miserable”

    Apparently not limited to liberals.

It’s late and I wonder if anyone will see this. But!

Stebon has been excruciatingly irritating and obscene in the past.

This time however I think he’s hit on something. (Regardless of the fact that he meant it cruelly.)

We “liberals” do have a tendency worry ourselves to death about a lot of little things we can’t do anything about. We sometimes obsess ourselves into unnecessary frothing over some right-wing inanity. We expect to be able to refute all sorts of stupidities that would be better left alone.

We sometimes expect ourselves to be perfect. (I guess everyone does that) We are uncomfortable about uncertainty and somehow think that right-wing folks are never uncertain. They way they boast and bray it seems that way.

    Whatever the case though:

Alex! Lighten Up! Chill! You’re going to be OK!

I find myself agreeing with the liberals who say stebon is cracked, but for a different reason. The liberals I know never really care what the outcome of anything is as long as their intentions were good. (Tongue planted firmly in cheek)
