A local Republican ran for city council about 15 years ago in which he called his victory a mandate for his agenda. He won 34% of the votes in a 3 person race. The current Republican “mandate” reminds me a lot of that.
More people have voted for Obama than for all those GOP reps and senators. The only apparent mandate they have is their hole card, voter apathy.
