    Morning, Village!

Getting ready for Holy Week. This and Advent are the busiest times of the year for a pastor.

Good morning, Vagabonds, I finished reading Elie Wiesel’s book, “Memoirs” and I now started reading “Valley of the Horses,” ny Jean Auel.

Arye, don’t read Valley of Horses until you read Clan of the Cave Bear first.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David’s right, Arye. Valley of the Horses was the second book in a series of six. Clan of the Cave Bear was the first and really should be read first to set up the context of why Ayla is alone in that valley. Also, just be aware that there are some very explicit sex scenes in “Valley” (and the following four books). I usually skip several pages at a time when reading Auel’s books.

Speaking of books, my annual excursion into book judging is here. I should get the books in today’s mail. It is a Christian Women’s fiction award called the Inspirational Reader’s Choice Award. Some of the books are great and a few are just garbage. I have even found a few authors whose other books I purchased and read because I enjoyed the contest entry so much. Once I am done with the judging I pass them on to friends who pass them around the group then donate them to the church’s annual book sale. I got started with this when one of my church friends in Victorville was an entrant in the contest. She asked me if I would volunteer to judge and I have done it ever since.

It is supposed to warm up considerably in the next few days. The weather man is predicting record-breaking high temps. Oh joy.

Don’t you just love the internet weather that gives the temperature and then says “feels like…”? What else is it supposed to feel like? Today is supposed to be 88 degrees and will get up to 92 over the weekend.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Well, the NC Family is gone! Successfully flown home yesterday with only one delay. Seems to be a problem whenever there is bad weather in the east.

Today will be spent getting the house back in order. All those extra bodies and 2 being teenaged girls, really put a crimp in my style. But……………what a great visit, and we miss them already. :((
